Daman Keshan

Daman Keshan (دامن کشان) (also widely known by its opening lyric "Daman keshan saghi e meykharanan...") is a famous Persian vocal composition written by Karim Fakkour and popularized by singer Vigen Derderian. In Persian classical music (Radif), it is composed in Bayāt-e Esfahān (بیات اصفهان). There is a widely shared regional folk melody commonly known as Sari Gelin similar to Daman Keshan. Variants of this melody have long been sung across Iran, the Caucasus and Anatolia, including within Azerbaijani, Armenian, Turkish, Persian and other regional musical traditions.
