Friedrich Burgmüller

Friedrich Burgmüller (1806–1874) was a German pianist and composer whose lyrical, accessible piano studies are staples of piano education. Collections such as 25 Easy and Progressive Studies, Op. 100, 18 Characteristic Studies, Op. 109, and 12 Brilliant and Melodious Studies, Op. 105 combine clear technical goals with charming musical character, making them favourite piano teaching pieces for developing technique and expression.
